Notebook Investigation — The Incident at Galley House
Master Reya Beckon's notebook: character sheets, timeline slots, tags, and confirmation workflows.
Notebook Structure
Reya's notebook has four tabs: Characters, Timeline, Locations, and Curse. Characters list every silhouette encountered with fields for name, role, and notes. Timeline holds eleven slots (Victims 11→1). Locations map room codes to events. Curse collects rule observations that gate Act 3.
Confirmations require typing exact names — spelling matters, but the game accepts common nicknames once formally introduced in LI or interview logs.
Efficient Tagging Workflow
When entering a scene, tag unknowns with temporary labels (e.g., "red scarf") in notes before guessing names. After two scenes share a tag, attempt confirmation. Link entries to scene codes in notes for wiki parity with the progress tracker.
Timeline entries need three fields: location code, time period, and present characters. Incomplete entries show dashed borders and do not count toward act gates.
Cross-Referencing Characters
Use character count (CHARS) to eliminate impossible identifications. If a scene shows CHARS=2 in ST and you confirm both names, any other scene claiming both were in KI simultaneously at the same TIME must be reinterpreted — likely different sub-periods.
See character identification for visual tells and scene codes for catalog sorting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I export notebook data?
In-game export is not supported. Use wiki tools to mirror progress externally.
Do confirmations ever revert?
Only if you manually clear an entry in settings — a debug-style option hidden in the PC pause menu.
Are interview logs in the notebook?
Yes, under each confirmed character once triggered by story beats.
